Flying Manes Therapeutic Riding was founded in 2009 after a group of friends were inspired by the dramatic progress that two young twins (Jack and Bess) achieved through therapeutic horseback riding.

With a little help from Columbia Law School and a whole lot of elbow grease, Flying Manes was established as a 501(c)3 charitable organization with the aim of connecting those with special needs with a community of people, horses and ponies willing to help.

Our organization does not aim to be the biggest, but rather our goal is to ensure that our participants get the most out of each lesson, each week, each term and each year. We are committed to providing the therapeutic benefits of horseback riding and other equine-assisted activities to individuals faced with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges.
