Flying Manes Therapeutic Riding is a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH) member center that offers therapeutic horseback riding lessons and activities aimed at teaching the foundations of equine behavior and equine care.

Flying Manes is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals faced with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges by providing the benefits of equine assisted activities and therapies in a safe and enjoyable environment.

Flying Manes aspires to be a premier therapeutic riding center in the New York metropolitan area.  It aims to operate in a professional environment that fulfills the highest standards established by PATH and to create a supportive community characterized by continuous learning and improvement. The core values Flying Manes strives toward in its work are safety, respect, recognition, independence, and growth.

Our Facility

Flying Manes operates at Riverdale Stables, a premier horseback riding facility in New York. Riverdale Stables is located on 21 acres in Van Cortlandt Park and features an indoor arena, several outdoor arenas, and immediate access to the trails in the park.

Flying Manes participants represent diverse backgrounds. They are children and adults of all ages above four years with a wide variety of physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges, including, but not limited to:
